For years, my professional life has been defined by precision and discipline - whether I’m coaching fluent English clients, instructing piano, or training on the mats. I value “the work.” But lately, I’ve looked at the local comedy scene and seen a lot of “low-tier” stagnation and recycled tropes that don’t reflect the actual depth of the women living and working here, and on top of it - women aren’t even being heard half the time.

I’m done waiting for a seat at a table that isn’t serving anything worth eating.

I've had side splitting lunches that turned eating sweet potato fries into an extreme sport from the sarcastic jabs, inside jokes born of wine nights with the girls, and times my crying over life turned into crying in laughter just by venting with one of my besties.

I’ve officially founded Comediennes of Central PA, a professional collective designed for women who have lived enough life to actually have something to say.

Our Path Forward

We aren’t here to “cater” to the status quo or play the “cool girl” for a clique. We’re here to cultivate authentic, rebellious, and lethally sharp humor. From veterans and IT pros to musicians and mothers, this is a space for the “everything” woman to sharpen her craft and take the stage on her own terms.

As the founder and creative director of the collective, my vision is simply this for women in the scene:

• Find their voice

• Build connections

• Find welcoming spaces

• Promote shows

Are we going to end up with our next Netflix special by building this scene?

Probably not.

Are we going to become famous?

Likely, no.

Are we going to become rich?

Absolutely not, ha!

But I’ll tell you what we are going to do: Build a community where women feel confident to step on stage to share their fun, fresh, sarcastic, strong, angry and full range of voices, life experiences and perspectives so we can laugh together at this crazy ride we call “life.”

Being the 90s child that I am, I figure, let’s just pull a Field of Dreams here - if you build it, they will come. I’m in my Kevin Costner era, I guess. Don’t touch my ranch, gatekeeping dudes, and come to my imaginary baseball field, ladies. Let’s do this!
